I am wondering if they are the same people, but there are not a lot of Keatons in the area.Keaton was Keeton, but the tombstones of all that I have seen say Keaton.I don't have the details in hand, but I believe that it goes something like this.James Andrew Keaton had two wives. The first had a few children and died. I think the second wife (maiden name Browning?) had three children, James, Craig, and Ann?I believe that JA became a Cumberland Presbyterian pastor. One of children was a James Keaton that lived near Atwood, at least near the end of his life.My mom (86 now) barely remembers him, but thinks he might have had a store near a cotton gin.Another son, William had a son Grover that was my grandfather.Without going back to TN, I can't confirm the details.I may be able to get my sister to check some of this out.
