Thomas Keast was born 09 Aug 1844 in Bocnnac, Cornwall, England, the son of Samuel Keast and Elizabeth Talling. he married Eliza Grace Oliver on 03 Mar 1865. Eliza was born 27 Apr 1846 in Cornwall, the daughter of William Oliver and Elizabeth M. Matthews. They left Liverpool for New York in 1869. After a few stops in Illinois, they settled in Macedonia township, Pottawattomie County, Iowa. Thomas was a very successful farmer, amassing 380 arces. They had seven children. The youngest was Charles who was born 27 Jul 1880. On 24 Jul 1902, he married Emma Mae Summers, the daughter of James A. Summers and Huldah Ann Wickersham of Silver Creek Township, Pottawattomie County, Iowa. They had nine sons and one daughter. They farmed in Macedonia Township most of their lives before moving to Oakland, Iowa. Charles died on 09 Dec 1956 and Emma Mae died on 31 Dec 1972. They are both buried at the Macedonia Cemetery. Thomas died on 09 Jun 1895 and Eliza on 24 May 1922. They are both buried in the Macedonia Cemetery.
