Hi Leanne,
I know that you posted your query a LONG time ago, however I hope this information finds you and that it is useful. I'd be interested in any other information you may have accumulated since your post.
Johannah Keast was my 3x great grandmother. She was born in about 1842 in Camborne, Cornwall, the sixth daughter of parents George Keast (a copper miner) and Elizabeth Andrew. In 1864 she married James Johns Phillips in Redruth, Cornwall. In 1866 they immigrated to Australia with their infant son James Henry Phillips (b.April 1865). A second son (Thomas Johns Phillips) was born on 24 Jan 1867 at Daveyston in the Barossa Valley (SA) but died on 22 June 1967. In total, Johannah bore six children to James. Five sons and a daughter. Johannah died on 21 Jul 1879 at Cross Roads near Moonta. James married Ellen Keast, Johannah's younger sister in 1881 and had a further 2 daughters (Mabel b.1882 and Frances b. 13 Nov 1884 who died 6 weeks later).
Kind regards
Christie
