Our branch of the family is related to an Alice Kearton whose relatives included Cherry and Richard Kearton (pioneer wildlife photographers). Alice married William Thompson, a cartwright who also owned the Cricketers Arms in Barnard Castle. They had nine children. Hope we're not mentioning the obvious with the wildlife photographer link to Muker (try searching for the Swaledale area - Grinton) but no-one appears to have mentioned them so far.
