There is a George Kierce listed in the 1790 Census for South Carolina in the Orangeburg District, which later became part of Barnwell County, SC. My ancestor is Wilson J. Kierce who was born in 1810 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Pierce/Pearse can easily be mistaken for Kierce/Kearse. I have found our name spelled many different ways in the Census records throughout the years. Who knows, Elizabeth and Wilson could be brother and sister, because I do not know if he had any sibilings. I only know that his parents were John and Rebecca Kierce. I myself am looking into other Pierce records, like Reddick Pierce in South Carolina, to see if there are any connections. There is also the Kierce/Kersh connection as well. Hope this helps.

Vanessa
