Hunting for information about elusive g.grandad!! Emigrated to Australia 1854, supposedly from Ireland with his wife Ellen Anderson. Family story insists he was German and changed his name from Karrs to Kierce once in Aus. because it sounded too much like "curse"...His records show that his Father's name was Michael and mother was Mary, but this may have been a ruse too.John and Ellen had five kids and lived in Sydney - he was a coach driver, yet literate...two of his daughters beacme teachers - Ellen and Margaret.
