My Grandfather Albert Barnes Fincke 1880-1967 said he was taken to visit relatives in Iowa by his mother when he was a small boy. His sisters said that he was named after his grandfather Albert or more likely Barnes. His mother Ella Kearns 1856-1927 had 7 kids, possibly named after her family,Edward Theodore,Maggie S. ,Anelda M.,William Edward, and Charles Edward. When the 1880 census was taken May 11, Albert was 1 day old and another step child or servant was listed : Georgia Brashear. She remarried and had another child, Hazel Belle who died in 1914 at the age of 17. I am open to discuss anything about this. I hope you find some names in your book Ruth !
