Hi Chris:

I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.

Note 1 - Without a KNOWN county, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%.

Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database.

Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome).

For James Kearney B 1839 (exact) somewhere in Ireland with the father's forename unknown, I found 12 rcds: Cavan, 2-Kilkenny, 2-Dublin, Louth, Wicklow, Down, 2-Cork, Meath, and Antrim. Father's forenames were James, Thomas, James, Thomas, Michael, James, Unknown, John, Andrew, William, Edward, and Hugh. Notice none are named either Frank or Francis.

The Crilby surname doesn't exist in this database. The closest spelling seems to be Criley. It is a variant for Riley. For Marg(aret) Criley M 1838, I found 12 rcds. One is in Co. Meath, Bohermeen RC parish.

For Frank Kearney M 1834 +/- 4 yrs somewhere in Ireland, I found 1 rcd in 1838, Co. Meath, Bohermeen RC parish. This and the rcd for Margaret are HIGHLY likely to be for your ancestors. A view of the detailed rcds SHOULD show the M was to each other. If so, this validates the rcd. A view of the detailed rcd SHOULD show their parents names. These facts MAY help you identify the B rcds for Margaret and James.

For Mary Trainor B 1845 +/- 4 yrs somewhere in Ireland with the father's forename unknown, I found 100 rcds - too many to summarize here. However, 7 were in Co. Meath.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
