I am searching for my great grandparents who were born in Sligo and immigrated to England before coming to the US. They may have spent some time in Glasgow but I can confirm that they lived in Blayden on the Tyne which was a coal mining town near New Castle on the Tyne and Weal.
They came to the US as a family unit March 27, 1885,with three sons: Michael, James and John (my grandfather) and four daughters: Bridget, Margaret, Mary and Kate.There was a fifth daughter but I do not have her name.
Census date gives John Joseph's birthdate as February 1845 in County Sligo. His father was James Kearney and his mother Mary Kelly.
I would be delighted for any assistance in finding the town where they were born.
