Johanna Kearney - Carmody - Ireland and Australia

My Great Grandfather was born in Ardagh Co. Limerick and arrived in Australia circa 1860-1863 and lived in Toowoomba Queensland with his wife Bridget nee Doorley till his death in 1884 aged 52.
His death certificate shows his mothers name as Johanna Kearney. I am not sure why his mothers maiden name was shown - perhaps she wasn't married to his father.
He may have had brothers - Thomas and Patrick and also possibly a Martin who was also in Queensland and died in 1922 aged 85.
I have not been able to trace Bartholomew's immigration documents yet. He was a horse handler and then a turnkey/warder at Toowoomba from about 1863 till or just prior to his death.
