Claremorris, Kilcoman, etc are in the very east part of Cp Mayo near the Co Galway border. Through DNA testing we now know that there are two Keane clans in Mayo & Galway. One, the Keanes of Connemara, are in the west of Galway & Mayo. The other Keane clan is in East Galway, including Tuam & Dunmore which are near Co. Mayo. Your Keane clan could be either of these, as their area lies between the territory of the two known Keane clans whose DNA we have in the Cain DNA project at www.familytreedna.com/public/Cain-Caine

Actually I am wondering if your family could be related to mine, who hail from Dunmore and who were Kane & Keane back in Ireland
