Joseph D. Keane
Joseph D. "Joe" Keane, 83, a resident of Independence Village, Naperville, IL for five years, died Monday, March 2, 2009 at his home. He was born August 24, 1925 in Rockaway, NY. Loving husband of the late Rosemary (nee, Thompson) Keane, whom he married June 6, 1959; beloved father of Denis (Leah) Keane of Naperville; adored grandfather of Nathaniel and Naomi Keane; devoted son of the late Denis and Margaret Keane; dear brother of the late James Keane and the late Francis "Frank" (the late Norma) Keane; dear brother-in-law of Donald Thompson, Ellen Thompson, the late Harold (Rosemarie) Thompson and the late Margaret (Tim) O'Connor; beloved uncle of Denise, Patrice, Robert, Laurie, Melinda, Donald, Kate, Brendan, Roberta and
Margaret. Joe served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II and worked in commercial banking for many years in New York City. Visitation Wednesday, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Additional Visitation and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Jackson Heights, NY. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity of the Donor's choice or Regis High School, New York, NY.
