Have recently tracked our MELVIN connection to the John J. KANE/KEAN/KEANE family from 1868 Ballina, Co. Mayo, Ireland to of Seattle, Washington. The shoemaker m. Sarah A. MELVIN in Ballina where 2 children were baptised. WA Census from 1883-1920 shows 4 children growing to adulthood in Seattle.
Daughter Anna m. John GILL, both b. Ireland, & had 7 Seattle GILL children.
Dau. Sarah b. 1887 Iowa, likely married by 1900.
Dau. Katie b. 1881 Iowa, was a sentographer for Electic Co., apparently unmarried.
Son Charles J., b. 1884 Seattle, streetcar motorman, also apparently married after 1910.
Would like to hear from any family descendents to exchange info.
