Kane/Keane Longford co.
Posted by: Beth Nichol Date: June 16, 2001 at 16:40:55

Searching for ancestors of Ellen Kane, b. 6 July 1892, in Longford county. The town name was hard to make out, but it looked like Stroid?? Ellen immigrated to the US in 1912 and settled in Talmadge County, Michigan.
Father's name was William Kane, mother's surname Green, first name Helen? In a handwritten note, Ellen states she was baptized at a church in her town. She spells her surname Kane, but in later documents it shows up as Keane. She stated her father was a laborer, and that her mother and aunts and uncle are buried at Mot Hill. (Possibly Mohill, Leitrim???)
Any help would be appreciated.
