Looking for my ggrannys 2 brothers FRANK and JOHN br in the 1870's probably in Ohio , although census records say Pennsylvania no Church records show any births of them in Pennsylvania JOHN was br in 1872 and FRANCES was br in between them a brother WILLIAM JETTRUDE was br 1873 in Harrison Co
Ohio....their parents name were Patrick and Maria O'KEANE br Ire 1830 & 1847,both from Ireland , Patrick was a tailor...Last known residence of Frank and John was the St Pauls Orphanagein Pittsburgh Pa where they and the other children Mary Ann, Margaret, and William Jettrude were placed in June of 1880 when their mother died in Rochester Pa, BeaverCo...their father died in 1884 and the records for the boys part of the orphanage were lost so I have no idea what happen to them...
Their sister Mary Ann married a John Henry Joyce and Margaret married a man named Lavine and Wm J married a Laura and lived in Grapeville Pa where he worked in a glass factory they had 4 daughters and 2 sons....
No one seems to know what happen to John and Frank...there is a family tale that they
went to Chicago....
They may have spelt their name as O'Kane or O'Keene instead of O'Keane...
Their sister Mary Ann Joyce nee O'KEANE was my ggrandmother she lived in Rochester and Beaver Pa Beaver Co.....
They had 2 aunts ..sisters of their father BRIDGET and KATHERINE KANE who were nuns in the Society of the Sacred Heart Convent in St Joseph Missouri...they had another Aunt UNKNOWN name who lived in St Charles Missouri in the 1870's and another aunt... a sister again of their father... ELIZABETH KANE who was married to a MICHAEL JOHN O'CONNOR [tailor] and lived in Ashland Ky and Huntington WV...there was also a possible Uncle named of MICHAEL KEANE who was in
