I am doing a genealogy and have traced back to George Washington Kays, Sr. from Washington County KY born in 1822. He was married to Sarah Colvin.
I have read on numerous sites that his father was William A. Kays (Mother Rebecca Noel) and the George Kays and Mary Huffman was W A Kays' father, HOWEVER I have seen no proof of this. The earliest census showing Rebecca and William showed I think 6 kids, and I have their names, however in 1840 and before they only took the Head of the Households name. The numbers add up, however I havent found any death cert, birth index, nothing. I found a transcript of a will from George Kays 1817, but again not a scan of it, just the words. Any help is appreciated.
