I found Wm H. Kays w/ wife Permelia in the 1870 US Census for Alexander Twp., Benton County, MO. Lists two children: daughter, Mary V. 2 yrs old, b. Missouri; son, Jehu H. (impossible to read), 1 yr. old, b. Missouri.
Permelia was my gggrandmother's niece. Permelia's parents George Henry Curtis, b. 1817, Kentucky; and Malinda Ann Barlow, b. 1818, Monroe County, Kentucky. Permelia came from a family of 11 children.
