I am trying to research this twig in our family tree. I have a photo taken in 1917 in Detroit of 4 female relatives and 2 children.
"Minnie" Mary Elizabeth Kays married Wilbur Joseph Gano.
She had a sister Sarah Kays Borroughs or Burroughs. There was also another sister...unknown name....but she had a daughter named Dorothy Fick...so I am assuming that the unnamed sister was married to a man named Fick.
"Minnie" Mary Elizabeth Kays Gano had two daughters. One was named Edna Mae Gano Claytor. In the photo, she is standing behind Charles Claytor. I assume he is her son.
Also in the photo is Sina Gertrude Gano Magee...another daughter of "Minnie" Mary Elizabeth Kays Gano.
"Minnie" Mary Elizabeth Kays Gano also had 3 sons. Wilbur Joseph Gano, Jr., Kenneth Gano and Robert Gano.
According to a relative, she thinks the Kays came from England.
Hopefully, some of these names will strike a chord. Please email me if you even think any of this might be familiar.
