Vernon: It is good to be in contact with you again. Several years ago you supplied me with the extensive geneology compiled by Minklein, for which I am very grateful. I am very interested to see that we still have no information on the parents of our mutual g--grandfather, William Kays, born 1781 in PA. In the meantime I have learned a great deal more about my own ancestors in Putnam County, Ill., including photographs of the gravestones of William Kays and Jane Beatty in Magnolia. Also I got photos of the graves of Henry B. Kays and his wife, my great grandfather, in Magnolia.
