Dear Graham-ignore my fevered, ill-informed email of yesterday. Here is my wife's Jonathan Kaye data. I hope it matches something you know. Jonathan Kaye, born Kirkburton ca. 1802, married 19 April 1824 at Kirkburton, to Grace Haigh, born 8 Dec 1806 at Kirkburton. They had a son, Mnason Kaye, born ca. 1826, who married, on Dec 25, 1844, at Emley, Wakefield, Ann Scargill (1822-1902), who was also born at Emley. They had a daughter, Hannah Maria Kaye, born Nov 25, 1850(or Nov 24, 1851-the tombstone and death certificate disagree)at Huddersfield. She married Williamson Baxter, born Tordoff Green, Bradford, Nov 17, 1844, in the first quarter of 1871 at North Bierley, Dewsbury area. Williamson and Hannah emigrated to the USA, where she died in 1907, and he died in 1926. They were my wifes great-grandparents. A hypothesis is that Jonathan Kaye who married Sarah Moorhouse was a brother or uncle of Mnason Kaye. I do not know who the parents of "my"Jonathan were.
