My gg-grandfather left Ireland abt 1850 and settled in Maryland near Baltimore. According to my Dad the family lore indicated taht he and his siblings came from Wicklow. His name was John Kavanaugh - spelled "Cavanah" on his citizenship papers. He married an Irish girl , Ann Martin. I'm not certain if they married there or in Maryland - I'm still checking. Because John is such a common name - his kids, who were all born here, were named John William, Emmett Patrick, Mary E., Thomas J, Kate, and William. I know those are common too but maybe the combination and "Emmett" ia a little unique. I know this might not help but let me know.
