Thank you for your message. My grandmother's Kavale family came from Norway, so as much as you or I might wish we had found family, it looks as if the two families are separate from each other. Best wishes in you search.

Does your family spell Kavale several ways? Ours does. The original spelling of the Norweigian form of Kavale is K'vaale or K'vale, with a little circle over an a, so here in the United States I am not sure how to spell it. I think Grandma uses K'vale, but I have seen others use K'vaale, Kavale, and Kaavale, as well as the correct name with the circle design in it.
