LaSalle Woman Dies

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Morris, 36 years old, wife of Oscar L. Morris, the postmaster at LaSalle, died Friday. Death occurred at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs William P. Coffman, one and one-half miles west of LaSalle and was due pulmonary tuberculosis.
Mrs. Morris was a native of the LaSalle district. Besides her and husband she is survived by three children: Mary Beatrice, 11 years old, Barbara Virginia 8, Dorothy Lee 4.
There are five brothers. Jacob, Seymore, Ralph William and Olin Coffman and two sisters, Mrs Mary Bethel and Florence Edmonson.
Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church in LaSalle at 2:30 o’clock, Sunday. Interment in Linn Grove.

Elizabeth is buried in the Linn Grove Cemetery in the same lot as her husband Oscar Morris who died in 1971.

In the obit for Oscar it says his wife’s maiden name was Kauffman….

There are both Coffman and Kauffman buried in the Linn Grove cemetery. None of them seem to be any of her siblings. There is a William Coffman….maybe Elizabeth’s father?? He died 2/14/1941.

In Oscar’s obit it states that the daughters of Elizabeth/Oscar were:
Mrs Tom (Beatrice) Seery of Greeley
Mrs Walter Wolford of Casper Wyo
Mrs Dorothy Anderson of Denver.

If Eliz was 36 when she died I 1923, she would have been born in 1887.

If anyone has info about Elizabeth and her family in LaSalle, I sure would love to hear from you.

Thanks a lot,
Anna
