Hello Bob,
Sorry for the slow response time - for some reason your posts didn't appear for some time when I viewed the genealogy forum after my original posts.
Oscar Katzenberger is my great great grandfather and your great-uncle.Glen O. Katzenberger, my grandfather, was born in New Castle and later moved to Washington state. He passed away in 1949 in a boating accident in Alaska. He had two brothers Bob and Raymond (also deceased). The Naval Katzenbergers are Raymond and both of his sons. All three served in the South Pacific during WWI.Bob worked as a navy welder.Glen O. was deemed essential to the war effort and not drafted nor allowed to leave work at the shipyard during the war.
Our records do go back to Rastadt, but it would be interesting to compare with yours and see if any gaps could be filled in.
Google searches under Glen O. Katzenberger bring up further info on Glen O. and the Bremerton Yacht club if that is of interest to you.Searches under Glen Katzenberger will also bring up info on Glen O.'s son, also named Glen.
Best regards, and feel free to give me an email at akatzenb at hotmail dot com.
Ann Katzenberger
