1893 photo of funeral arrangement for Jacob Frederick Katz (1827-1893)
I purchased the subject undated studio memorial photo taken by N. H. Stark, Tekonsha, MI, depicting cross-shaped arrangements of flowers and leaves surrounding a tag reading "FATHER." Handwritten along the bottom edge of the print in period ink are the words:"Jacob Frederick Katzs Flowers."Written on the back of the photo mount in pencil is the following (this may be old dealer's marks):"N. Armour897 - E. MichB Creek -Store 17#13.00"I found the deceased and his family listed in the 1880 Census data for Tekonsha Township, Calhoun Co., MI. I also found a web site giving transcriptions of the headstones for Jacob and his wife Annie, both buried at Windfall Cemetery, Section 29, Jackson Road, Tekonsha Township, shown as:Katz Doyle, Annie M.
