Re:Benjamin Katz,son Of Isaac and Anna Katz of New York City
Looking for decendants of Benjamin Katz.He is the brother of Isaac Katz from Minx,Lithuania.He had a cattle business in Minneapolis, Minnesota.He had blue eyes,and an eye diease that left him with tunnel vision,then blindness. This trait has been passed down to other decendants(my cousins).He had other sibblings,Samuel Katz of DeMoines,Iowa,who was married and had a son.Benjamin had another brother,name unknown,who lived in Washington state.There was a sister who lived in New York.She was tall,had grey hair,blue eyes,was deaf,and married to an Irish man with the last name of Barney.Benjamin's brother Isaac was my great great grandfather.He was married to Anna Epstein(Oguz)and they lived in New York,worked in the sweatshops,before owning their own shoe store.They moved to El Paso,Texas,where they worked in a shoe store.They relocated to Arkansas.They had three children: Abraham, David,and Beatrice.Abraham went in to the army,then setteled for awhile in Arkansas. He was a printer and newspaper editor.He also worked in Alabama at a newpaper. He setteled in Biloxi, Missippi.He died there in 1969.David lived in and around Chicago,Ill.He played chello for the DeMoines orchestra,before moving to the Chicago Symphony.He married a Jean DeNellsky,and they had a daughter,Edith Katz.Jean died when Edith was little,and Grandma Anna came to Chicago and raised her.Issac died in Chicago.David remarried to a woman who played the harp in the symphony. He went back to school and studied Law. he became the lawyer for the musician's union.He became quite famous for gaining the royalty rights for the musician's original works.David died in Chicago.Beatrice married Nathaniel Greene and moved to Bessemer,Alabama.They had two children:Jackie,(son)a lawyer in Boston,Mass;and Janice,who married Marvin Bloomburg,and moved to Atlanta,Georgia.Beatrice died and is buried in Florida.If you know of any of these family lines please contact me.Thanks Linda
