Cynthia, I'm trying to find a source for Michael's Rev War service. Do you have any? I find him listed, in Hub of the Tulpehocken, as a private in Capt. John Lesher's company, Col was Patton, but neither DAR nor the cards at PA Archives list him. Supposedly he was captured when Ft. Washington surrendered, but there is no record, that I can find, of that. A book on the Paffenberger family says, "Frantz (1976, p 22) states that the Heidelberg Brigade took part in the fighting during the Battle of Long Island during August and September of 1776." But I can't find Frantz' book. Supposedly there is a list of Patton's regiment with the NARA, Micropublication 246, roll 126, but NARA online has no record of that film. Somewhere I read that the British have a list, but I can't find that either. Seems I'm stymied wherever I look. Can you help? Notify Administrator about this message?
