I am grandson of joseph kates originally of chicago.mothers maiden name was mary burns. do not know fathers first name. he had three brothers;harry, warren,and john (johnny).joseph and harry were with the ringling brothers circus.harry died in chicago and joseph died in dothan alabama(apx 1954).john was sent to ozone park,long island,from chicago when his mother died to live with mary's sister who was married to a walsh. joe born in 1880 or 81. Mary burns kates and her husband had a restaurant in chicago late 1800's early 1900's apx..joe divorced my grandmother and had a new family in dothan with a daughter mary frances. thats all i know, ionly saw my granfather 3 or 4 times. rich
