Grandfather Samuel Kates married Lottie Childress, from Halifax County, Va. had four children, John,Robert, Mildred Kates Gibson and Mazie Kates Davis. All born in Halifax County Va. Later moving to Media, Pa. My father was John Singleton Kates. Three daughters, Uncle Robert three sons, Aunt Mildred two sons, Aunt Mazie two sons. My Aunt Mildred is the only living sibling and both her sons are still alive and well. Myself and sisters all alive and well. My Uncle Robert has one son living his name is Jimmy and lives out west?? He had daughters but I don't know anymore about him. Aunt Mazie's sons are both deceased.
