These katens may be related to me. my grandfather (allen george katen) was born in/lived in Philipsburg, PA (in center county, pa). (fyi: center county is pretty rural PA land) he had relatives in the philly area, and allegedly some also moved out to CA. My grandfather moved to Erie, PA later in his life and married my grandmother there.
It is also rumored that my grandfather had some native american roots (great, great,... grandmother). no one has traced this ancestory to my knowledge, but i would be interested if anyone had any info.
