WALLACE G. (WALLY) KASTNER
Born January 27, 1918, Wally passed away suddenly October 26, 2001 after a brief illness.He is survived by a loving and devoted wife, Pearl; twin daughters, Janet (wife of Mark Bingham of West Seattle), and Joan (wife of Byron Grover of Kent); and his older brother, Edward, of Seattle.He had eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
Wally and Ed were the last of three generations of merchants who owned Kastner's Market in Ballard until they retired in 1981.Wally and Pearl celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary July 3, 2001 surrounded by their children and grandchildren.Wally is preceded in death by his younger brother Robert Kastner of Fresno, CA, and his parents, John & Lillian Kastner of Ballard.
Wally was a lifetime member of the Ballard Elks Club and the Occidental Lodge #72 Nile Shrine Temple.He also served as President of Ballard Rotary Club (1977-78), and took much happiness as a member of the Nile Men's Golf Club and Served with the Second Section.
A Memorial Service will be held in his honor at the Nile Temple, 6601 - 244th Street S.W., Mountlake Terrace, WA at 1:30 p.m., Thursday November 1, 2001.Visitation may be made at Wiggen & Sons Mortuary in Ballard during business hours Tuesday and Wednesday, October 30 - 31st.Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 2472, Spokane, WA99210-2472.
He brought joy to his many friends and all who knew him.

EDNA O. KASTNER
Age 92, passed away December 29, 1993.Beloved mother, of Delores M. Cohrs, Seattle, Marvel June Panaro, North Syracuse, New York, and Marlyn H. Kastner, Tacoma; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.Mrs. Kastner was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church and very active for many years.She was a co-founded of the Seattle Ministries Society.Graveside services Monday, 10 a.m., Pacific Lutheran Cemetery, followed by memorial services 11 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7050 35th Avenue N.E.Memorials suggested to the church.

Mrs. Augusta K. Kastner, Resident Here 60 Years
Mrs. Augusta K. Kastner, a native of Sweden and a Seattle resident for the past 60 years, died Thursday of a heart ailment.
Mrs. Kastner, 75, lived at 9910 Triton Drive NW.
She was a life member of Occidental Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, a charter member of Wenatchee Court of Order of Amaranth, and a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
Her husband, Walter, died in 1919.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m., at Mittelstadt Mortuary.
