John & Verona Jancu Kassay, Tony Kasay

I am researching Jon (John) and Verona (Veronica) Jancu Kassaj, both born 1875. John Kassaj born in Vienna, Austria. Verona Jancu Kassaj place of birth unknown, though Moravia is a likelyhood.

John Kassaj was a member of the Spanish Riding School and a captain in the Austrian Royal Guard attached to Princess Elisabeth.

In the course of entering through Ellis Island and the US Census their last name changed several times. The first changes were to Kassay and Kasay.

Tony Kasay was born in 1887 in Vienna. It is unclear whether he was the son of John and Verona or the brother of John, but he was definitely their close relative and was known to the family as their son.

All three immigrated to the USA in 1899, but not via the same ship. Verona shipped on the SS Koenigin Louise out of Bremin. It is as yet unknown on which ships John and Tony arrived.

If anyone has family records that connect them to this Kassaj (Kassay, Kasay) family in Austria I'd be interested in comparing notes.

Also, I am in need of guidance on researching the archived records of the Spanish Riding School and The Austrian Royal Guard c 1880-1899.

Thanks, Kai Tooie
