In searching for my own Karstedt roots, I have found I am related to two spellings of the same name. My grandfather, Christian Frederick Carstedt was born enroute from Germany in 1867. He had a brother that spelled the name Karstedt. I never deviated from the original spelling with a C until recently when my mother mentioned something about it. Since then, I have come up with many possible links, and some look very promising. Just thought you might be interested.
