Nevada and I compare notes on this so I am taking the liberty of adding what I know to the message she posted just before this one. In the 1910 Whitley Co., KY census, Samuel Karr (sometimes spelled Carr) is married to Maudie. His occupation is Sawyer. There are two children: Minnie Davis (12) and Oscar Karr (1). By 1920 the couple had divorced, Maudie was married to Walker Dunn and living in Knoxville, TN. Samuel never remarried. His certificate of death says he died Oct. 12, 1931 at age 72. His parents are listed as Jacob and Annie Roberts Carr of Tennessee. It says he was divorced from Maudie Reed Carr. Maudie's certificate of death (her married named was Dunn at this point) also says her maiden name was Reed. The informant was Oscar Allen. There is some debate about her actual maiden name (possibly Cecil or Cissell) and who her parents were. We are also unsure whether Oscar Allen is the same person as Oscar Karr. This is all terribly confusing and, if anyone can shed any light on Samuel and his ex-wife Maudie, both Nevada and I would be eternally grateful!
