Roger, Sorry this has taken so long to answer. My Nicholas Karns was in VA. History of that county says he came with his wife and a sister from Germany. One of his daughters, Catherine married Henry Bar/Baer/Bare/Barr. (a million spellings). My ancestor. As far as I know he was in the Shenandoah Valley in Rockingham Co., VA. We know very little about him. We believe he did have a son named Nicholas also. We don't know any more about him. Will look through my stuff and see if there could be a connection.
