I have not been able to tie my families lineage to this Karel line.

My family is a descendents of Jan and Katie Karel who settled in the Grand Rapids, MI area in 1869 after having arrive in NJ in 1861 from the Netherlands. Their children were Gerritt, Johanna, Richard, Martin, and Pieterje. Gerritt remained in NJ and changed their name to "Karl". Johanna moved to NY and married a John Van Hine. The other three children settled here in Grand Rapids. I am a descendant of Martin's.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you.
