Hi Natalia. I guess we all are looking for the same thing. I just signed up to this web site and did a search for my grandfathers name, Kasimer Karczewski, who was born in March of 1867 in Russia, we don't know exactly where in Russia. At 21 yoa he immegrated to the US from Riga, Latvia. This information apparently comes from a document/book "Migration from the Russian Empire", which lists passengers arriving at the port of New York. We believe he arrived with a brother(s) but not sure. Around 1900 the "z" was dropped from the name which gives us todays spelling. He worked in coal mines in Pennsylvania for several years and then moved to Minnesota. Have you ever heard of a "Kasimer Karczewski" in your research? Thanks.
