Karch Family from Ludwigshaven, Germany

My mother came to America from Germany in 1950's from Germany. Her maiden name was Karch, her family was from Ludwigshaven, Germany. Family from both Ludwigshaven and Mannheim. Some relation may have emigrated in early 1900's. Saw one site that said female Karch from Ludwigshaven emigrated to America in early 1900's thru Ellis Island, New York. Anyone that can trace family to either of these two cities, we may be able to work together. The name Karch is a variation of the english word "cart".
