Alexander Capp, born Munich, Germany @ 1878
I have a marvelous illustrated journal of Alexander Capp's trip from Germany in 1908 when he came to the States on the "Kronprinz Wilhelm" to visit his cousin Richard C Capp, then living in Spokane, Washington, and Kalispell, Montana. Alexander Capp was an artist and poet, age 30, single, 5.8' tall, dark hair, brown eyes, born and resident of Munich, Germany. His father had been a government official known as "Commerzienrat Capp.
Richard Capp had already made several trips to the States by 1908 and apparently settled in or around Kalispell, Montana. His family was from Prague -- his father apparently the uncle of Alexander.Richard was 30 years old in 1908. He apparently married around 1907. In 1907 Richard's younger brother Charles (Karl) Capp came to visit, giving his US address as Main street, Helena, Montana.
Charles (Karl) came again in 1909, on the liner "Amerika," listing his father as Wilhelm Capp (Cap), residing at 32 Karlstrasse, Prague. In 1911 Richard's mother, Marie Cap "59, widow" arrived in New York with her son, Karl, heading for Kalispell, Montana.
I've tried working through the Kalispell city hall, directories, etc. for this period but have not been able to make the connection. Do any of our Genforum Kapps or Capps have any connections to this side of the family, or their residence in Montana or Washington. Any help greatly appreciated.
