Sherri,
I am researching my great-grandfather, Michael Kapp (Capp) who lived in Chicago from 1880 until 1903. He had a wife and children prior to marrying my great-grandmother. His first wife was Wilhelmina (Minnie) Kapp and she had two children, Elizabeth and Michel S.They lived in Philadelphia prior to 1880 and I believe my great-grandfather deserted them and went to Chicago with a 17-year-old girl named Louise in 1880.
His second wife was Louise Kapp and she had a daughter named Louisa. They mysteriously disappear in Chicago sometime between 1880 and 1883.
I wonder if any of these names appear in your research. There is a Louise Kapp buried in Highland, IL, but I haven't made any connection yet. She may not be the one I'm looking for. Was Emma Kapp's family Jewish or were they Mennonites from upstate Pennsylvania? Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Michael Kapp was Jewish and came from Hechtsheim, Germany in 1871. I just want to find out about his first two families (a family secret) before I write his biography.
Thank you.

Anita Weaver
