Hi Gerald.

My great-grandfather's name was Louis Kaplan, and he came over from Pinsk, Russia to New York City (Either Brooklyn or Manhattan). His name originally was Louis Kopeles (not sure if that's spelled right) and was changed to Kaplan by immigration.

Does any of this sound familiar? I don't have the family tree here now (just started asking my grandparents for info a few days ago). I believe he had a brother in the NY area too, I'll check my info.
