Hi,

I am looking for the origins of my family back in Germany. Record has it that my furthest link back is a George Canze of Bavaria, Germany in 1830. No record of where he came to America or any years, but he married a Rosena Haines and they had a child born (supposedly) in Lancaster, Erie County, New York. According to my father, the Canze name has been changed several times throughout its history, and says that it was Cantz back in Germany. I have heard that there are very few names beginning with the letter C in Germany, so perhaps Kantz is a variation as well. If anybody has any information that can share with me or any way of helping me, please let me know.
