Looking for a photo of Lawrence S.Kane for my personal use only.The only information I have on him is:
Born January 21,1845,Died December 24,1884.Interrupted his course at St.Francis Xavier's to serve with the 9th New
York Infantry(Hawkins Zouaves),served with them until their return to the city in July 1863.Graduated from St.Francis Xavier College in 1861.In 1865 he began to write for the Tobacco Leaf,a journal to the tobacco trade.He remained on this paper until 1869.Became connected with the Sun,and acted as city editor of the Sun over a year.Went to the Sunday Mercury and was editor for some years.In 1874 he joined the local staff of The Times.When the Sunday Citizen was started he was induced to assume the editorial management of the paper.Started a society paper which he called Our Society.Returned to The Times as a reporter,leading man on the city staff.In August 1881 he was made financial editor of The Times.
I collect photos/images of the 9th New York Infantry for my personal use only.I do not sale,post or publish anything.I would be more than happy to share the photos I have of the 9th New York Infantry.Thanks for any and all help.
