From what our family historians have found is that our family originally was a Sept of Clan Donald.

This past August while I was trying to find information about our Coat of Arms I found a Kellogg site that describes a Kellock-Kellogg connection. On the site it says: "An online source says that the Kellogg's came from the Clan Kellie of Scotland who served the Earls MacDuff and eventually became known as the Kellock (meaning Clan Kellie) and Kellogg as they moved into Essex, county of England." The address for the Kellogg site is: http://www.janeek.com/kellogg.htm

From what little amount of information I've been able to find, it looks like there may be at least 2 different places of origin for the Kellock (Kelloch) name, Clan Donald and Clan Kellie.

Something that may interest you is a page that I have on the website with 3 articles about the history of our name. One article was written by K. Kellogg, and was posted on Aug. 14, 2001 in the Kellogg Gen-Forum. In K. Kellogg's message he discusses a possible Kellogg - Clan MacDonald connection . The link to the page is: http://kalloch.accessgenealogy.com/kkellogg.htm .

I hope that this helps, please let me know if you find anything else.

Ken
