Greetings to everyone, I was surprised to see that we received our own forum here, it's good to see this forum. Thank you to everyone who has helped request it for the past year, and thank you to the people here at Genealogy.com for making it. Since last July I have been building a website for the "Kalloch Family Reunion Association." On the website I have included as much history and information about our family as I've been able to find. Also I have been helping our family historian compile the names of all Kalloch descendants. The Kalloch database at the website currently has 9627 individuals. Our Kalloch family descends down from Finley Killough, son of Robert Killough and Margaret Finley who came to Boston in 1718 from Antrim County, Northern Ireland. Finley and his family were in Nova Scotia during King George's War in 1745, and while there he readopted the Scottish spelling "Kelloch" for his name. Finley's parents and siblings who moved on to Pennsylvania kept the Irish spelling of thier name "Killough." Kelloch seems to be the preferred spelling of our name until after 1800, then we diversified with Kalloch, Kallock, Keller and Kellar. Finley Kelloch settled in St. Georges, Maine in 1735. Each year since 1867 his descendants have gathered for a family reunion in Maine. This comming August 2002 will be the 135th Kalloch family reunion. For more information about our family and about the "Kalloch Family Reunion Association", please visit our website.
