My great grand mother Josephine Byleska was born December 7, 1900 in Bialystok. My great grand father Bilevich Kalinowski was born July 22, 1890 on a Russian estate on the border between Russia and Poland, I believe the spot was on the south fork of the Bug river which would possibly put it near Hrubieszow but it could be further north near the stretch where the Bug river forms the boarder between Poland and Belorusskaja. Our family is from both sides of the boarder but we have little history of it since my great grand parents didn't bring much information to America when they were fleeing WWI and between the 2 WWs many of the records are probably destroyed. My great grand father changed his name to William Kalin or rather had it changed for him by the US Army when he served during WWI to get his citizenship. His older brother, Max, came to America first, and settled in Philedelphia. My great grand father lived there a little while and then moved to Conshohocken, Pennsylvania where my grandfather Joseph Kalin was born. Josephine died in 1937 and William married Hellen but died in 1965.
