I am gr-gr granddaughter of Elisha Kale b. 1818/19 NC d. 1880 TN. He came to Haywood/Crockett Co TN in October 1849 from Catawba Co NC. Elisha was married 1846 to Mornin Webb in Edgecomb Co NC but she stayed in NC when he left for TN. Elisha divorced her in Haywood Co TN in 1850(area later became Crockett Co). Elisha's son--my great-grandfather--was John Frank Kail,his son Robert "Bob" Kail and my dad Egbert Melvin Kail. Does anyone have info about my Elisha in NC? Surname was spelled Kale but is now Kail. I can't seem to find a "confirmed" connection to Elisha's father in NC. I was told by other researchers that he was the Elisha Kale who was son of Balthazer/Balser Kale but I have not found legal documentation of that. Elisha Kale NC will dated 1849 does not mention a son Elisha. I am very interested in family history from NC. Any info appreciated.
