Kalbaughs of western Maryland

The Kalbaughs of western Maryland descend from Isaac Kalbaugh and Michael Kalbaugh, brothers who were both born in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Their parents were Philip Kalbach and Catherine Johanna Weigley. Philip's parents are Adam Kalbach and Anna Maria Eva Spang. To the best of my knowledge, Adam's father has not been identified with certainty, although Philip Kahlach is a good guess (by elimination of the other possibilities). The records of the Kalbachs are scattered throughout the churches of Berks and Lebanon Counties, PA. There is a lot of information available at the Historical Society of Berks County, but it requires digging.

Isaac and Michael Kalbaugh had a brother Reuben, who died in California; a brother Zadock, who lived in Rock Island, Illinois and Golden, Colorado; a sister Hannah Newman, who lived in Ohio; and a sister Sarah Lape, who lived in either Berks or Lebanon County.
