My gggrandfather was Heinrich Freidrich Wilhelm Kahle born July 28, 1865 in Mardorf, Hanover, Germany. His parents were Heinrich and Karoline M. Braze-Kahle. At the age of 16 he emigrated to America with his parents and settled in Mount Olive, Illinios. Karoline died and Heinrich Sr. remarried Wilhelmine Schumberg and they have 4 children. Heinrich Jr.(Henry) married Anna Ramhorst are they settled in Oklahoma in 1900. Thier family is still living in that area today. Some of my family recently went to Mardorf, Hanover, they asked the towns people if they knew the name Kahle and they did. It's a very old name originating from Kalen. My family brought back 2 books from Mardorf with hundreds of Kahles listed in it. Unfortunately the books are in German. From what I've been able to understand the Kahles started as Kalen in 1522 to present date. If anyone has information they would like to share with me, or maybe I can help someone. Please let me know.
