Hi,
yes I live in Auburn, NY. My grandfather was Joseph Robert Kahl and my father is Robert Joseph Kahl of Auburn NY. I have been contacted by Robert Kahl of Ft Lauderdale Fl who we have discovered is my cousin, His father is Edward Kahl, formally of Auburn and now of Florida. he has a brother Daniel Kahl of Pittsburgh, Pa. Bob has also uncovered some records of the Kahl family and has traced us back to the same locations you have info on. He is supposed to be sending me some more info other than what he has already sent me. I have some info on Adolph and his brothers, one of which was killed in the early 1900's in Auburn in a woolen factory accident that ripped his arm off in some kind of machine. There were also some brothers who died before they came to this country. From what I undertand there was a split in the Kahl family that developed over the baptism of one of the children which resulted in some of the Kahls leaving the Catholic church. Our side of the family remained with the Catholic church. I always wondered if the other Kahls in Auburn were really all related and ties just broke apart.
I will reply when I get any more info!
Thanks,
Patti Kahl Festa
